JOSHUA TREENIAL ART EVENT

JOSHUA TREENIAL ART EVENT

For many, Joshua Tree carries an image of being on the frontier of creative expression. The upcoming Joshua Treenial promises to push that image as far as we’ve seen yet, to a place called the “event horizon.” Reporter Mike Lipsitz has more …
The Joshua Treenial begins March 31 and continues through April 2. Joshua Treenial co-curators, KJ Baysa and Bernard Leibov, describe it as a weekend of site-responsive art installations, performances and community building that highlight all that Joshua Tree inspires and makes possible. Joshua Treenial will bring together dozens of artists from all corners of the earth to exhibit their work and express themselves under the theme “Event Horizon.” Dozens of works there will examine the spectrum between man’s headlong rush into oblivion, his optimism about what positive outcomes may lie just out of view. Leibov’s artist residency program, dubbed BoxoHOUSE, is hub for the weekend of activities with a number of performances and exhibits hosted at area partner venues. Complete information on the artists, venues, and other options is available by following the link in this story at Z1077FM.com (http://www.joshuatreenial.com/home-1.html). Navigate there to begin your exploration of contemporary art at the new frontier. Reporting for Z107.7 News, this is Mike Lipsitz.
