A Joshua Tree woman was killed when she was hit by a pick-up truck last night. According to a preliminary report from the California Highway Patrol, 57-year-old Michele Fleming was crossing the highway northbound at Grand View Circle when she was struck by a silver Toyota Tacoma in the number 2 lane of westbound Highway 62 just before 7:30 p.m. The Toyota was driven by a 30-year-old Redlands man who was driving about 45 miles per hour. The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. Both westbound lanes were closed for about two hours. The CHP is investigating.
