A Joshua Tree woman was arrested for spouse abuse after she hit another woman with a baseball bat. According to a Sheriff’s report, Crystal Hughes, 38, was arguing with a woman in the 61400 block of Desert Air Road about 6 p.m. Saturday. Hughes allegedly struck the woman with an aluminum bat, giving her a large lump on her forehead. The victim also said Hughes punched her multiple times, causing bruises and swelling to her face and shoulder. Crystal Hughes was arrested for felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
