A Joshua Tree woman was arrested Monday afternoon, accused of conspiring to shoplift from Walmart. According to a Sheriff’s report, Walmart employees called deputies about 1 p.m. to report that a woman, later identified as Maryann Huffman, 48, was concealing merchandise in her purse. Employees also said another woman, who was not identified, was waiting outside the store to drive Huffman away in a car after she left the store. Deputies arrested Maryann Huffman for investigation of felony conspiracy, booked her into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $25,000.
