Sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in a sexual assault and attempted murder in Johnson Valley Thursday. Deputies were called to the 5500 block of Perriman Street in Johnson Valley just after 6 p.m. Thursday for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, Marlton Forest told them that Joshua Beedie, 39, a transient from Joshua Tree had sexually assaulted a woman on the property. When Forest went to check on the victim, he said Beedie shot at him with at least two firearms. Beedie fled the scene before deputies arrived. A $2 million warrant has been obtained for Beedie’s arrest. Anyone with information about Joshua Beedie’s arrest should call Detective Chris Bertetto at 760-366-4175.
