A Joshua Tree man was arrested Thursday, accused of trying to steal tires. According to a Sheriff’s report, a resident in the 6400 block of Park Boulevard called deputies about 9 p.m. to report he just caught a man, later identified as William Hampton, 46, in his yard. The caller said Hampton had cut a hole in his fence and was trying to steal the tires off a Ford Expedition. After an investigation, William Hampton was arrested on suspicion of burglary, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $25,000.
