JOSHUA TREE MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT THURSDAY MORNING

A Joshua Tree man was arrested early this morning after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit through residential neighborhoods. A Sheriff’s report states that deputies attempted to stop Cory Bryant, 33, for speeding near Alta Loma and Alta Avenue about 4 a.m. Bryant refused to stop and led deputies on a pursuit for more than 4 miles, reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour on residential streets. At the end of the pursuit, Bryant ran from the vehicle, and was found by deputies hiding under a bed in a home in the 61800 block of El Reposo Circle. Cory Bryant was arrested for investigation of felony evading and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000.
