A Joshua Tree man was arrested Thursday evening, accused of biting and choking his girlfriend. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman called just before 6 p.m. Thursday to report that her boyfriend, Christopher Kimmel, 34, had hit her in the face, bit her, and choked her to the point where she couldn’t breathe. The responding deputy noted bruising to her mouth and had bruises near her eye from past abuse. Christopher Kimmel was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
