JOSHUA TREE HOME LOST IN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON FIRE

A Joshua Tree home is most likely a total loss after a fire Wednesday afternoon. According to Joshua Tree Fire Engineer Dave Fuller, a woman in the 4500 block of Avenida La Flora thought something was burning on her neighbor’s stove, and she went next door to check it out. The woman discovered a table was burning inside the home, and the home’s resident was unaware that there was a fire in her kitchen. Firefighters from Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, Yucca Mesa, and Twentynine Palms all responded to the fire, which had spread into the entire length of the attic of the 1,200-square-foot house, and into the garage. Fuller said it took about 30 minutes for firefighters to get the blaze under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
