JOSHUA BASIN WATER REORGANIZES, APPROVES COST OF LIVING INCREASE TONIGHT

A cost of living increase for employees, plus rates, reports, and board reorganization are on tap at tonight’s regular meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District board of directors. Reporter Mike Lipsitz elaborates…
At tonight’s meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District board, directors will elect a board president and vice president to serve during the 2018 calendar year, after which directors will consider the first fiscal quarter financial report for the period ending September 2017, as well as any updates to the ongoing rate study. And from the consent calendar, the board is expected to rubber stamp a 2.5 percent cost of living increase for affected union employees; that action was part of negotiations finalized last May. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at district offices on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
