JOHNSON VALLEY MAN WHO FLED ON FOOT FROM DEPUTIES IN OCTOBER ARRESTED

A Johnson Valley man, who has had warrants for his arrest since October, was arrested Monday in Landers. On October 22, Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 51300 block of Olivine Road in Johnson Valley for a report that Scott Coffman, 30, had brought home a stolen truck. Deputies confirmed that the truck was indeed stolen, and placed Coffman under arrest on suspicion of vehicle theft. As Coffman was being handcuffed, he began resisting the arrest and escaped on foot. A week later, the district attorney’s office issued warrants for Coffman’s arrest for resisting a police officer, vehicle theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia. On Monday, deputies went to the 1000 block of Yucca Mesa Trail where they found Coffman and arrested him for his warrants. Scott Coffman was booked into West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $150,000.
