JOHNSON VALLEY CRASH SENDS TWO PEOPLE TO HOSPITAL

A head-on crash in Johnson Valley sent two people to the hospital late Wednesday night. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Mike Snow, firefighters were called to Highway 247 and Rattlesnake Canyon Road about 10:40 p.m. last night. Snow said a vehicle traveling westbound on the highway drifted over the center line and crashed head on into a vehicle traveling in the eastbound lane. A 31-year-old female driver suffered head injuries and was flown by Mercy Air to Loma Linda Medical Center. The male driver, identified only as being in his 50s to 60s, suffered a possible broken arm, wrist, multiple contusions and lacerations, and was taken by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs.
