INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION IN OUR MORONGO BASIN SKY TONIGHT

Theatre 29’s production of Disney’s Mary Poppins had young and old alike searching the night sky for signs of the magical, flying nanny. While the production ended yesterday, there is reason to keep your eyes on the night sky this week. Traveling at about 17,500 miles per hour, the International Space Station will streak across Morongo Basin’s night sky this evening. The ship will come into view at about 30 degrees above the west north west at 8:31 p.m. heading north north east. It will be visible for about three minutes before disappearing behind the Earth’s shadow. Don’t be too disappointed if you miss tonight’s flyover, the International Space Station will traverse our night sky again tomorrow evening when the sighting conditions are expected to be even more favorable.
