HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ and girls’ swim teams won their meet against Yucca Valley yesterday. The Ladycats won, 103 points to Yucca Valley’s 67 points. Qualifying for CIF were Darrian Rieg in the 200 individual medley and Hanna Beard in the 100-meter backstroke. The Twentynine Palms boys won the meet by 5 points, with a score of 85 to 80 for the Yucca Valley Trojans.

Twentynine Palms Wildcat Golf Team had a loss and win in their back-to-back matches Wednesday and Thursday. The Wildcats lost to Yucca Valley Wednesday at home 231-244, and rebounded Thursday, beating Big Bear, 221-283, in Hesperia, shooting their lowest score of the season. Coach Grant Whipple said standouts for the Wildcats were Brandon Steffins, 41; Justin Delarosa, 42; Ty Lueken, 44; Cody Hathaway, 46; and Michael Hathaway, 48.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School and Yucca Valley High School swim teams will compete in an invitational meet in Yucca Valley, starting at 9 a.m.
