HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Yucca Valley High School girls varsity tennis team beat Desert Hot Springs 15-3 Tuesday. In singles, Carrie Scofield went 3-0, Katie Brattain 3-0; Chiara Celis 1 -0; April Bratcher 2-0. In doubles: Dawn Rich and Moriah Goddard went 3 for 3; Aislinn Gueltzow and Miranda Green went 2-0 and Ally Koedel 1 and 0. Coach Cindy Miller says The team is now 3-0 in league.

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan volleyball team traveled to Desert Hot Springs Tuesday winning both JV and varsity. JV won in two sets 25-6 and 25-9; the girls working together keeping serve in the first set with Emillie Griffiths’ 10 points and six aces and in the second set with Jackie Bolhas’ nine points and five aces. Varsity’s first set was a close game with a loss at 23-25. It took a great team effort to pull out a win, with the next three sets winning 25-20, 25-22 and 25-18.

In high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School cross-country team will participate in the Hi-Desert Classic at Machris Park in Yucca Valley. The meet begins at 4:30.
