HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ basketball team faced the reigning De Anza league champions, Shadow Hills High
School, last night in Wildcat Gymnasium. Coach Michael Schneider said, “From the tip off, the ’Cats played aggressively on both offense and defense; they finished with a decisive 62-29 victory.” This brings the Wildcat record to 9-and-6 overall, with a 7-and-2 record in the De Anza League.

Both Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ soccer teams continued their second round of league play on the road last night against the Knights of Shadow Hills. Coach Nathan Niles said the varsity held the Knights to a scoreless tie in the first half. A few mental slips occurred in the second half, with the final score ending at 4-0, with a loss to Shadow Hills.

Junior Varsity Wildcats soccer lost 7-0. Defensive midfielders Don Ketcham and Tim Niles played their best games of the season.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams will host the Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles at home. The girls start at 3:15; the boys at 5 p.m.

The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ and girls’ soccer teams will play Rancho Mirage High School tomorrow. The girls will play at home; the boys will travel away to Rancho Mirage. Both games start at 5 p.m.

And finally, the Joshua Springs girl’s basketball team will travel away to Rancho Mirage to play Palm Valley School, starting at 5 p.m.
