HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULE

In girls’ volleyball, the Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans beat Coachella Valley High School last night in three sets, 25-14, 25-18, 25-18.
 
Coach Darrell Sterlings said leading the way in kills was freshman EJ Day with 11 kills on 22 attempts. Junior middle blocker Zena Yackimow had seven kills on 11 attempts and one block. Senior setter Becky Messaros had 24 assists five digs, six service aces and two kills. 
 
The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats beat the Eagles in three sets in the Desert Hot Springs gym yesterday. Coach Missy Bond said the Ladycats are now 4-4 in league.
 
The Ladycats were led by senior Tatiyanna Mackall, who had eight kills and two ace serves. Junior Lindsey Scamman had six kills, one block and two assists. Senior Selemara Mapuatuli had five kills and one assist. Junior Cheryl Jensen had three kills. Sophomore Gabby Mackall had four ace serves, two kills and 18 assists. Junior Hope Culver had four ace serves and super passing for the night.
 
The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Coachella Valley High School, 13-5. Coach Cindy Miller said the team is now 8-1 in league.
 
In singles, Katie Brattain went 6-0, 6-0, 6-0; Carrie Scofield 6-1,6-1,6-1; Ashley Heveron, 0-6, 1-6, 0-6.

In doubles, April Bratcher and Allisa Tavares were 6-2, 6-0; Kloee Scacclanoce and Savannah Beasley 6-1, 6-3, 6-0; Mckenzi Monical and Summer Nelson 6-3, 3-6, 6-0; Deborah Simpson and Zoey Mahan 0-6.
 
Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School volleyball and tennis teams will travel to Rancho Mirage High School. Both matches start at3:15.
 
The Twentynine Palms High School volleyball and tennis teams will host Desert Mirage High School at home. Tennis is at 3:15; volleyball at 4:30.
