The Yucca Valley High School girls varsity tennis team beat Twentynine Palms High School yesterday 10-8. Coach Cindy Miller said in singles, Carrie Scofield and Katie Brattain went 3-0. In doubles, Dawn Rich and Moriah Goddard and Aislinn Gueltzow and Miranda Green took two out of three. Yucca Valley is now 1-0 in league. Twentynine Palms coaches said the Wildcats girls lost the hard-fought match against Yucca Valley by a score of 8 to 10. In singles, the Wildcats only managed to win three sets. In doubles, the ladies lost a couple of crucial sets, including a second round tie-breaker. Seniors Heather Adamsen and Maddie Gall were the stars of the day, winning two out of three sets.
