The Yucca Valley High School Trojan boys’ basketball team played Desert Hot Springs Friday night and was in a fight until the bitter end, until they were edged by five points at the final horn. Coach Berry said the boys were led in scoring by Thomas Geiger and Judiah West who had 23 and 16 points. Trojan boys’ basketball is currently 2-1 in league play.
 
On Friday night the Yucca Valley Lady Trojan basketball team scored a 67-42 De Anza League win over Desert Hot Springs in Trojan Gym. Coach Jess Geeson said the home squad jumped to a 37-11 halftime lead and were able to hold off a Golden Eagle third quarter rally securing their second league win against one loss.

Sophomore Savannah Beasley led the Trojans with 20 points, she was followed by senior Annika Dendekker with 12 points and sophomore Kloee Scaccianoce with eight points. The girls take their 11-6 overall record to Rancho Mirage Wednesday and host Twentynine Palms on Friday.
