HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team played host to the Golden Eagles from Desert Hot Springs yesterday and beat them in three sets. The Ladycats travel to Desert Mirage on Thursday.

The Ladycats were led by senior Lindsey Scamman with eight kills, one block, and one assist. Junior Gabby Mackall had six ace serves, six kills and 15 assists. Junior Breanna Collins had four ace serves. Senior Cheryl Jensen and junior Nicole Elmer both had two kills. Senior Hope Culver had two kills, one ace, and one assist.

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycat varsity tennis team hosted the Eagles of Desert Hot Springs Tuesday. The Ladycats came away with the victory, 13 to 5. Coach Bill Shay said the Ladycats tennis team improved to 7 and 2 in league play and are currently in second place in the DeAnza League.

In singles action, the Ladycats were led by Alicia Gilchrist and Tamesha Jefferson, who swept all three of their sets. In doubles action, the teams of Danny Morrissey/Alexis Soster, Saniyah Solwazi/Rosalind Carrllo, and Emma Romano/Bella Crank all won two of their sets.

In high school sports today, the Twentynine Palms High School girlsā€™ tennis team will travel away to play Big Bear High School. First serve is at 3:15 p.m.
