The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ basketball team started out De Anza league play with a win Tuesday night against Desert Mirage. Coach TJ Stanford said the ’Cats played tough defense, holding the Rams to 31 points. The scoring for the ’Cats was led by D’Shaun Barrett and Adam Bell, with 15 points apiece. The rest of the scoring was very balanced throughout the team with an awesome display of team basketball. The Cats will take on their cross-basin rival Yucca Valley tonight at 730 pm.
