HI-DESERT WATER WELCOMES BACK GENERAL MANAGER ED MUZIK

Hi-Desert Water District General Manager Ed Muzik

Last night, the board of directors of the Hi-Desert Water District welcomed the return of  General Manager Ed Muzik, after almost three months of administrative leave. Apparently Muzik’s return will be short-lived as he plans to retire in 14 months. Assignment reporter Keith Bailey was at lasts night’s meeting and files this report…

At last night’s meeting of the board of directors for the Hi-Desert Water District, the board members were not too happy to find eight change orders for the Wastewater Treatment Facility totaling $299,443, for items that had been left out of the original plans and design. Next, the directors approved a water bill reduction for a customer who racked up $8,000 in charges due to a leak in the service line. The home is located in a remote area of the District so neighbors did not notice or report the leak. The district agreed to reduce the payment to $3241.
