HEALTHCARE DISTRICT DONATIONS NET HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE TRANSPORTATION

The Morongo Basin Healthcare District recently received two donations to be used for the purchase of an additional handicap-accessible vehicle for its non-emergency medical transportation program. The Morongo Basin Transit Authority donated $10,000, and the Hi-Desert Medical Center Auxiliary donated $20,000. The healthcare district’s LIFT Transportation Services provides free trips to and from medical appointments in the Morongo Basin. Last year, the program provided 8,080 one-way trips to medical appointments.
