The Morongo Unified School District is sponsoring a Summer Feeding Program, in conjunction with the US Department of Agriculture and the National School Lunch Program. There is no paperwork, just show up Monday through Thursday at the stated times, and each child will provided with a nutritious breakfast or lunch absolutely free. Meals are also available for adults for $2.50 and $3.50 per meal, respectively. The distribution locations are Twentynine Palms High School, the Community Services Center, Knotts Sky Park, and Palm Vista Elementary School in Twentynine Palms; Hi-Desert Cultural Center in Joshua Tree; and in Yucca Valley, La Contenta Middle School, Yucca Mesa Elementary School, the Boys & Girls Club, and Yucca Valley High School and Yucca Valley Elementary School. Distribution sites will be open Monday through Thursday, beginning June 20 through July 30 or August 12.
