FREE CELL PHONE FOR LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS

Residents who participate in a government-subsidized program may qualify for a free cell phone with unlimited talk and texting. Qualifying programs include food stamps, Section 8 housing, Medicaid/Medi-Cal, free school lunches, SSI, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, WIC, Supplemental Social Security benefits, and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or if the resident’s income is below the national poverty level. If you meet at least one of these requirements, bring your identification and qualifying documents with you to 7347 Church Street, Suite C, in Yucca Valley, between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Only one person per family is eligible for a free phone.
