FOUR HOMELESS AFTER A FIRE IN TWENTYNINE PALMS SATURDAY

Four people are homeless following a fire in Twentynine Palms Saturday morning. County Fire Battalion Chief Mike McClintock said crews from Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, and the Combat Center were called to the blaze in the 5700 block of Mariposa Avenue just before 8 a.m. Firefighters found flames and smoke showing from the rear of the single-story home. They were able to knock down the fire in about 15 minutes. The residents were out at the time of the blaze. The living quarters sustained heavy damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
