FOOD PROGRAM GOES INDIAN

Keeping up with the best ways to grow, store and cook fresh food is an ongoing process. One local group works to spread the word about eating healthy, and developing nutritious habits. Reporter Mike Lipsitz tells us how you can get involved …
The Joshua Tree Local Food Program invites you to enjoy the foods of India at this month’s community potluck, food demonstration and vegetable distribution. The event is set for this Sunday, April 23 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the United Methodist Church on East Parkway in Joshua Tree. Sunday’s program is a collaborative effort between the church and Transition Joshua Tree; everyone is welcome at this monthly community vegetable giveaway, Indian potluck and fundraiser. The goal is to provide fresh and local vegetables to supplement existing food assistance programs and to educate people about growing, storing and cooking fresh food. This is a no-waste event so bring your own plate and utensils. Write [email protected] for more information. Reporting for Z107.7 News, this is Mike Lipsitz.
