FIRST FLUSH MARKS START OF YUCCA VALLEY’S NEW SEWER SYSTEM

With an audience from Hi-Desert Water District, the Town of Yucca Valley, Action Pumping, and the Hi-Desert Star, Gary Daigneault, Broadcasting live on Z107.7, pulled the handle for the first flush into the new Yucca Valley sewer system at 9:42 a.m. Monday morning at a home on Indio Avenue.

The crew from Action Pumping work to complete the connection.

The town’s building inspector gave his final approval of the connection to the main sewer line, saying “Flush it.” After 6 years of planning and construction, Yucca Valley’s $150 million sewer is the largest public works project in the history of the Morongo Basin.

Homes in Stage 1 of Phase 1—located on the east end of Yucca Valley, near the Monterey Business Park and Palomar Avenue, will be the first to connect their homes to the main sewer line. There are 10 stages in Phase 1, and homes in each stage will be notified by mail by Hi-Desert Water District of when they can start connecting to the sewer. Property owners can go to a link in this story to find out when they will be expected to connect to the sewer.
