FIRE DESTROYS MOTORHOME IN JOSHUA TREE

A motorhome was a total loss following a fire in north Joshua Tree Wednesday afternoon. Shortly before 3 p.m., firefighters from Yucca Mesa, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, the Combat Center, and the National Park Service responded to a motorhome on fire in the 63000 block of Lakeview Road. County Fire Captain Brian Hoverman said the motor home was fully involved with flames when firefighters arrived. The motorhome was parked near the home, which suffered some radiant heat damage, but the winds yesterday actually helped firefighters by blowing the flames away from the home. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
