Morongo Valley firefighters didn’t have far to go to fight a residential structure fire last night—it was just around the corner from the fire station, in the 49800 block of Visnaga Avenue. Assisted by firefighters from Desert Hot Springs, the firefighters found a back bedroom and contents on fire about 9:37 p.m. They managed to contain the blaze and keep it from spreading to a nearby fence and adjacent residence. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
