Caltrans is continuing construction on Interstate 10 (I-10) in preparation of a crossover lane. The I-10 Tune Up will replace damaged concrete slabs, repave the interstate, upgrade the center median and guardrail system, as well as upgrade various on and off ramps through the area.

To assist in completing the project without reducing lanes during the day, crews are building a temporary “crossover lane” in the center median from 8th Street in Banning to Main Street in Cabazon.

During daytime work, Caltrans plans to have four lanes open in each direction. Nighttime work will require lane and ramp closures which could be down to one lane.
