Southern California Edison has announced it is planning on closing their Yucca Valley office. Reporter David Haldane says it is not too late to protest that decisionâŚ
If youâre used to paying your electric bill in person, you may have to change your routine. Southern California Edison says its closing its Yucca Valley business officeâon Old Woman Springs Road across from the Circle K gas stationâto streamline operations. If approved by the California Public Utilities Commission, the closure will take place by yearâs end.
SEC officials are quick to argue that the sky isnât falling. A service center will remain open for planning, maintenance and construction including emergency power restoration. And customers will still be able to pay their bills in person at Momâs Homemade Shipping on the 57000 block of 29 Palms Highway.
If you donât like the sounds of it, though, thereâs plenty of time to protest either by calling the public utilities commission at 1-800-649-7570 or emailing Edison directly at [email protected]. (Other options: send a letter to SCE, Attention: BOC â Yucca Valley, PO Box 6400, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91729-6400 or call Edison at 888-367-7178.) Company officials promise theyâll be listening.
