E-CIGARETTE SELLERS WILL NEED A LICENSE AS OF JANUARY 1

A new state law will soon require the sellers of electronic smoking devices to get licenses from the state. Reporter David Haldane has the story…
It may not be real tobacco. But after January 1, it will cost you real money to sell it.
We’re talking about electronic cigarettes, vaping devices, atomizers, e-juice and other products designed to replace the real thing for those who are tobacco challenged. Under a new state law, anyone selling such items in 2017 will be required to shell out $265 for a Tobacco Products Retailer’s License, renewable annually, from the California State Board of Equalization.
Failure to do so, officials say, could result in a misdemeanor citation and seizure of inventory.
Oh, yes, there are certain exclusions. Perhaps the most glaring: cannabis-related vaping devices sold in properly licensed dispensaries.
