DUI CHECKPOINT RESULTS

The Twentynine Palms Police Department has released the results of the DUI checkpoint conducted on June 15 in the area of SR62 / Encelia and 29 Palms, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. During the checkpoint, 823 vehicles were screened. No DUI-Alcohol or DUI-Drug impaired suspects were arrested, and no one was arrested for possession, transportation, or sales of illegal drugs. Two Drivers were cited or arrested for operating a vehicle with some manner of license violation. There were no criminal arrests, nor were any vehicles towed. The 29 Palms PD will be conducting another DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint /or/ DUI saturation Patrol in the near future in furtherance of its ongoing commitment to lowering deaths and injuries upon our streets and highways. The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Report Drunk Drivers – Call 9-1-1!
