The Desert Institute at Joshua Tree National Park is the educational branch of the nonprofit Joshua Tree National Park Association. This spring, the Association is offering outdoor classes in science, history and the arts. Classes are held in the park and adjacent Mojave Desert. Classes began on February 18 and run nearly every weekend through May 5. Most classes are not for credit, but optional credit courses are available through the University of California, Riverside Extension. All classes require a registration fee.
