DEPUTY SPOTS STOLEN VEHICLES IN LANDERS; TWO WOMEN ARRESTED

Two women were arrested in Landers, after deputies spotted a stolen dirt bike and van in a yard. Deputies stopped about 9:30 Tuesday morning to talk to the residents in the 55900 block of Lilac Lane after a stolen Suzuki dirt bike and a stolen Dodge van were spotted in the front yard. Inside the house were Cara Anderson, 29, of Victorville, and Patricia Padilla, 43, of Yucca Valley. Deputies saw in the home a .22-caliber rifle in plain sight. Padilla and Anderson were detained while deputies obtained a search warrant. During a search of the home and property, deputies located a stolen panel van, a Wacker -Neuson tow-behind industrial generator, smaller tools, two more firearms, ammunition, and multiple other items reported stolen from recent burglaries, valued at more than $30,000. Cara Anderson and Patricia Padilla were arrested for investigation of being felons in possession of firearms, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $50,000 each.
Stelios Chapman, who was also at the scene, was taken to a hospital for a medical conditions; charges against Stelios Chapman are pending.
