DEPUTY CHECKS RESULT IN TWO ARRESTS

According to a sheriff’s report, a 22-year-old Yucca Valley man is in jail today following a pedestrian check early Monday morning. A sheriff’s deputy conducted the check of William Phillips shortly after 5:17 a.m. near Highway 62 and Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms. A records check showed Phillips was out of compliance with the terms of his felony probation for assault with a deadly weapon and there was an active warrant for his arrest. William Phillips was arrested for the warrant, transported to Morongo Basin Jail, and booked on the no bail warrant.

According to a sheriff’s report, a 31-year-old Twentynine Palms man was arrested Friday night after a bicycle check about 10:20 p.m. on the 6600 block of Smoke Tree Avenue in Twentynine Palms. A records check on Darrell Watson showed a warrant for his arrest. While conducting a pat down search, deputies located a meth pipe in his pocket. Watson was arrested and transported to Morongo Basin Jail. During the intake process a jail deputy found marijuana on Watson. Darrell Watson was booked for suspicion of bringing drugs into jail and under a prior drug possession warrant. His bail was set at $50,000.
