DEPUTIES’ NAMES RELEASED IN CASE OF TELEVISED BEATING OF APPLE VALLEY MAN

The Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the deputies involved in the televised beating of an Apple Valley man following a chase on a stolen horse a month ago. Placed on administrative leave are Deputies Nicholas Downey, Scott Hamilton, David Moore, Dominic Moody, Detective William Doemner, and Sergeant James Evans, all of Victor Valley; Deputies Michael Phelps and Raymond Perez, of Twin Peaks; Deputy Tyler McGee, of Apple Valley; and Deputy Charles Foster, of Hesperia. Francis Pusok, 30, was booked for felony evading, theft of a horse, possession of stolen property and an active warrant for reckless driving. Bail has been set at $115,000. The criminal and administrative investigations are continuing and no further information is available.
