COUNTY HEALTH CLARIFIES ORDER ON MASKS AND LEAVING HOME

UPDATE:

The County Public Health Department issued yet another clarification to its stay-at-home order. As of Wednesday, April 8, all residents are required to wear a face mask when leaving their home. Drivers traveling alone or with members of their family do not need to wear a face mask in their vehicle unless they lower the vehicle’s window to interact with first responders, food service workers, or other people who are not members of their households. Masks may be homemade cloth masks, bandanas or handkerchiefs, or gaiters. In another clarification, the county’s order says that if a religious organization has already planned drive-in services for this weekend, it may continue with the drive-in religious service. However, every effort must be made to prevent contact between congregants. The County encourages single-family, home-based worshipping and activities, including Easter egg hunts among household members inside the house or in their back yards.

In another clarification, the county’s order says that all faith-based services must be electronic only through streaming or online technology. “People may not leave their homes for driving parades or drive-up services or to pick up non-essential items such as pre-packaged Easter eggs or bags filled with candy and toys at a drive-thru location.” The County encourages single-family, home-based worshipping and activities, including Easter egg hunts among household members inside the house or in their back yards. And finally, the county has ordered that parking lots at all parks and trailheads be closed and open only to those who are able to walk to them.
