COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP WINNER EARNS BACHELOR’S DEGREE

The competitive F. Roy Greenleaf Jr. Scholarship offered each year by Copper Mountain College pays tuition, books, and fees plus living expenses while the scholar attends CMC and then pays those same expenses when they attend a university to complete a baccalaureate degree. Reporter Cassidy Zimarik celebrates the 2015 Greenleaf scholarship recipient as he graduates with his bachelor’s degree this month…

Twentynine Palms High School graduate Kamaljot Singh, one of several Greenleaf scholarship success stories, was named Copper Mountain College Foundation’s scholar for 2015.  In June 2020, Singh earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering at the University of California, Riverside. Singh was able to pursue an education without any worry of finances and credits his success to an amazing start at Copper Mountain College. He noted that during his time at CMC, he was privileged to have outstanding instructors and be part of the community.

Kamaljot Singh continued his involvement at UCR, where he had many academic and extracurricular achievements.

Singh is well on his way to defining his legacy just as his benefactor F. Roy Greenleaf Jr. did over two decades ago and is thankful to all the donors to the Copper Mountain College Foundation. His future plans are to work in the industry in software development and engineering.

For information on how you can leave a legacy at Copper Mountain College, contact the CMC Foundation Executive Director Sandy Smith at 760-366-5296.
