COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL TAKE A CLOSE WIN SUNDAY

After a long three-week break the Fighting Cacti of Copper Mountain College got back in action Sunday night taking on a scrappy Compton College team at the Bell center in Joshua Tree. The rust from the holiday break showed but after a back-and-forth battle the Fighting Cacti held strong with consecutive defensive stops and secured a close victory 72-70. Next up for Copper Mountain College is Cypress College on the road Wednesday, January 3, to kick off their conference schedule; tipoff is at 5 p.m.
CMC was led by Tre’Von Bentley with 17 points. Jailen Moore netted 15 points, and Rosemond Alexis added 11 points, as the Fighting Cacti improve to 13-4 on the year.
