COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE LOSES TO IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE

For the Fighting Cacti, it was a very lackluster showing for Copper Mountain College on the road at Irvine Valley College last Friday night. The team got outplayed 78-61. Next game is back at home Wednesday, February 7, against Santa Ana College. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
Coach Devin Aye said despite the fact that Irvine Valley had an unusually hot night from the field, the Copper Mountain men couldn’t find their rhythm. At the half, Irvine had a 12 point lead, 39-27. In the second half, things became even more disappointing. Irvine Valley made consecutive three-pointers, and CMC couldn’t get a shot to fall. IVC took advantage of the off night for Copper Mountain and stretched the lead as far as 21 points and secured the victory 78-61. With the Loss, the Fighting Cacti fell to 18-8 on the season and 5-4 in OEC play. Murshid Randle, Isiah Blackmon and Tre’Von Bentley all scored 12 pts in the losing effort for CMC.
