At Copper Mountain College, the Board of Trustees will hold a special open meeting at 2:00 tomorrow to consider the final project proposal for a $12 million vocational facility that would be constructed northeast of the Bell Center. Tomorrow’s meeting will take place in the President’s Office, Phase 1, Room 114. If approved, a detailed proposal for the more than 18,000-square-foot facility goes to the California Community College Chancellor’s Office for consideration. The project, envisioned in the college’s master plan, the project would provide a modern instructional facility for a variety of programs including automotive, culinary arts, and justice, fire and computer sciences. Tomorrow’s likely action is among the first steps in a long process that would have drawings completed in 2014, ground breaking in 2016 and project completion estimated the end of 2017. Almost 85 percent of the funds would come from the State with the District kicking in an estimated $2 million. View the final project proposal here.
