COPPER MOUNTAIN COLLEGE BOARD MEETS TOMORROW

The Copper Mountain College Board meets in regular session tomorrow afternoon. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says the board will discuss contracts, tuition, and an opportunity for local High School studentsā€¦ā€¦.
The Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees convenes in regular open session at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Bell Centerā€™s Community Room on the Joshua Tree campus. In addition to regular reports, items on the consent agenda and various action items is a contract reopener between the District and the California School Employee Association. Also tomorrow, trustees will consider establishing non-resident tuition fees at $315 per semester unit or 210 per quarter unit. A 2 p.m. board workshop precedes the regular meeting. There, trustees will review a state assembly bill passed last year. The bill opens the door for community colleges to partner with local school districts in order to offer dual enrollment opportunities for high school students and smooth their transition into college.
