CONVICTED FELON FOUND WITH DRUGS AND AMMO

A convicted felon was arrested Saturday following a routine traffic stop, after a deputy found ammunition in his pick-up truck. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a gray Chevrolet truck for a broken brake light about 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of Joshua Lane and Pueblo Drive. The deputy determined the driver, Rowdon Brannen, 52, had a warrant for his arrest on drug charges, and was also a convicted felon. During a search of Brannen’s truck, the deputy found methamphetamine, needles, and 470 rounds of ammunition. As a convicted felon, Brannen is prohibited from possessing a firearm and ammunition. Rowdon Brannen was arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of ammunition, and for his warrants, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $60,000.
