Moving Toward Community-Based Renewable Energy. That’s the theme of this Saturday’s Desert-Wise Living Series which will focus on energy-dependent water delivery, conservation, and the outlook for renewables. Sponsored by the Morongo Basin Conservation Association, the program will shed light on why and how hydroelectric energy becomes important and is made possible from water’s long journey south. Local residents Nicholas Holmes and Eva Soltes will share examples of using gray water for domestic landscaping. And Twentynine Palms City Manager Frank Luckino will discuss the feasibility of Consumer Choice Aggregation. Saturday’s Desert-Wise Living Program will be held at the Yucca Valley Community Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  A $5 donation is requested.
