The Copper Mountain College men’s basketball team swept all three games in the three-day, eight-team Home Motors Tournament at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria last weekend. The Fighting Cacti won their first game Friday night against Yuba College, 83-77. Saturday, the men played Victor Valley and won 62-55, and Sunday evening, the Fighting Cacti were named champions when they beat Ohlone College, 72-70. Coach Devin Aye said all three opponents were very good teams. The Fighting Cacti will be ranked in the top 10 when the community college rankings were released Monday. The men’s basketball team is now 7-1 on the season.

In college sports today, the Copper Mountain College men’s basketball team will host Cerro Coso Community College at home in the Bell Center gym. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
