COLLEGE PROGRAM TO HELP NEW STUDENTS

Starting school at a new campus can be stressful, even bewildering at times. But a special program for students new to Copper Mountain College aims to ease any fears by starting newcomers off on the right foot. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has details…
For students new to Copper Mountain College, the second annual College Kickoff welcome event on August 18 promises to smooth the path for those transitioning to the Joshua Tree campus. CMC’s kickoff assembly begins at 9 a.m. with a welcome message and registration in the Bell Center Gymnasium. Attendees will hear about campus life from administrators and current students. There will also be time for students and staff to discuss CMC’s special programs. After which, students can meet professors and become familiar with the campus by joining in the Amazing Race Scavenger Hunt. Lunch will be served in Bruce’s Coyote Kitchen followed by games, a photo booth, prizes and more. The program will also include time for new students to get their CMC identification cards and parking passes or shop for supplies at the bookstore. For more information or to reserve a spot, contact Kayla Eberhardt at 760-366-3791 ext. 5895 or [email protected].
