COLLEGE BOARD GETS GOOD NEWS ON GOALS, APPROVES TRUCK-DRIVING CLASS

With a month away from the start of the fall semester, there was much to talk about at the CMC Board of Trustees meeting yesterday. The Classified Senate raised $5,085 for student scholarships at this year’s Bowl-A-Thon, the most EVER raised in 16 years. The Institutional Effectiveness Report showed an overall general improvement in not only retaining students, but helping them to complete their goals. Ground was broken for the Student Success Center Modular project yesterday. The project is estimated to be completed by mid-August, just before the start of the fall semester. After some discussion, the college board approved a class to provide training for drivers of tractor-trailers.
