Joshua Tree 101 is a short two-hour, information-packed class about this signature denizen of the Mojave Desert. Joshua Tree resident and environmental journalist Chris Clarke shares insights from his two decades of study on the Joshua Tree Saturday, May 14, starting at 10:30 a.m. There is a $5 charge for the class. Joshua Tree 101 takes place at Cactus Mart on the highway in Morongo Valley. Register there or call 760-363-6076. Music, food and an art exhibit will follow the class. Attendees will receive 10 percent off any plant purchase.
